Role Objective:


We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Aircraft Quality Assurance & Parts Inspector to join our maintenance and safety team. This role is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of compliance, airworthiness, and safety by conducting quality assurance inspections of maintenance events and performing FAA-compliant certification and classification of aircraft parts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aircraft maintenance, FAA regulations, and quality assurance processes.


Essential Job Tasks:


Teardown Lead/Disassembly

  • Work with the manager and teardown technicians to ensure timely completion of projects, including part removal, tagging, packaging, and transport to the Ocoee, FL office, while ensuring all parts are properly documented in compliance with FAA and Company standards.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with the Parts Sales Department, researching customer-requested part numbers and identifying their location on the aircraft.

Quality Assurance – Maintenance Oversight

  • Oversee the transition of management requests into this role, establishing clear ownership and accountability.
  • Conduct in-depth inspections of maintenance events to ensure work performed meets FAA standards, OEM requirements, and company procedures.
  • Verify proper documentation, sign-offs, and logbook entries associated with maintenance activity; researching IPC Alternative Part Numbers.
  • Audit maintenance processes and provide feedback to ensure adherence to quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Identify discrepancies, root causes, and corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance efficiency and safety compliance.

Parts Inspection & Certification

  • Inspect, classify, and certify aircraft parts removed during maintenance in accordance with FAA guidelines (14 CFR Part 43, 91, 135, and/or 145 as applicable).
  • Determine appropriate part status categories, including serviceable, repairable, overhauled, or scrap.
  • Issue and review FAA Form 8130-3 tags, serviceable tags, and other required documentation for airworthiness certification.
  • Ensure parts storage, handling, and traceability are compliant with FAA and company requirements.
  • Collaborate with procurement, maintenance, and engineering teams to resolve discrepancies in parts certification and usability.
  • Partner with the Parts Sales Team to provide sales support and research detailed customer requests.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily based in a hangar and maintenance facility environment.
  • Regular exposure to aircraft, tools, and equipment.
  • Frequent collaboration with technicians, engineers, and maintenance personnel in a fast-paced setting.
  • Occasional office-based tasks, including reviewing documentation, preparing reports, and coordinating with departments.

Physical Demands:

  • Perform hands-on inspections in and around aircraft and maintenance areas.
  • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, and reach in confined spaces for extended periods.
  • Lift and move aircraft parts or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Maintain strong visual acuity and attention to detail to identify discrepancies and ensure compliance.
  • Work in varying temperatures, noise levels, and around moving aircraft or ground support equipment.
  • Adhere strictly to personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety protocols.

Travel:

  • May require limited travel to off-site maintenance locations or vendor facilities to support inspections or certifications.

Required Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in aircraft maintenance, quality control, or parts inspection.
  • Strong knowledge of FAA regulations, especially regarding maintenance documentation and parts certification standards.
  • Familiarity with OEM technical publications, maintenance manuals, and inspection procedures.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills to provide feedback and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance tracking systems preferred.
