SUMMARY

The CIP (Clean-In-Place) Operator is responsible for the operation and upkeep of systems that clean and sanitize processing equipment—such as tanks, pipelines, silos, and vessels. This includes CIP and COP processes. This role plays a key part in maintaining high standards of hygiene, working closely with the milk processing, quality, production, and sanitation teams to ensure all sanitation procedures meet safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. The CIP Operator must safely handle cleaning chemicals and equipment in strict accordance with company policies and industry safety standards.

• Operates assigned cleaning equipment and utilizes appropriate chemicals to clean and sanitize designated areas within the facility.
• Performs thorough cleaning tasks, including washing walls, ceilings, floors, drains, piping, and various equipment throughout the processing.
• Cleans the assigned equipment and tanks as part of routine sanitation procedures.
• Maintains supply levels in designated areas; refills dispensers and stocks cleaning materials as needed.
• Monitors work areas for potential safety hazards and promptly notifies leadership of any issues; takes immediate action to address hazards as directed
• Adheres to all GMPs, safety protocols, and health regulations, including proper use of PPE
• Supports special cleaning projects as needed and performs other related duties as assigned
• Monitor, check, fill, and maintain CIP chemical tanks. Ensure proper levels of sanitizer and cleaning chemicals, check concentrations.
• Verifies each wash cycle is complete and all associated paperwork is documented and verified.
• Identify and resolve minor issues within the CIP system; promptly report more complex problems to maintenance or management.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• Related experience preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.  The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must be able to reach, bend, extend, and lift 50-60 pounds. It also requires reaching and handling dairy products and pushing and pulling stacks of products weighing up to 200lbs.

• The work environment may require working in the cooler room with varying degrees of temperature and may include contact with water or dairy liquids.
• Exposed to a noise level of 90 decibels.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate/high.  Wet/slippery work conditions.
