Job Description:About the Role:
We're hiring a proactive and detail-oriented Payroll Analyst II to help manage and optimize our payroll operations. This hybrid position requires working on-site in our Torrey Pines office three days a week, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical and analytical background, with a proven ability to manage complex, multi-state payrolls and ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local statutes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process Management: Oversee all payroll functions, process on and off-cycle payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees in a multi-state environment.
- Compliance & Audits: You’ll be the lead for payroll compliance matters to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local statutes. This role is also responsible for key annual audits (e.g. 401(k), workers' compensation).
- System & Data Analysis: Generate and analyze audit reports, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of all payroll data. Analyze payroll data and system workflows to identify and resolve discrepancies, working directly with our ADP vendor.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance our payroll processes. Lead the implementation of new payroll procedures and document process improvements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with People, Finance, and other departments to ensure seamless data flow and accurate accounting on payroll related matters. Provide timely and effective resolution to employee payroll inquiries.
- Strategic Projects: Take ownership of ad-hoc projects assigned by the Payroll Manager, using your analytical skills to solve new challenges.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience processing domestic payroll, with demonstrated experience handling multi-state payroll for an organization with over 1,000 employees.
- A strong working knowledge of ADP Payroll products, with ADP Workforce Now experience strongly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of payroll compliance and federal/state employment laws and regulations.
- Exceptional analytical skills with a focus on details and a problem-solving mindset.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially advanced Excel functions.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
Hybrid Work Model: At Guardant Health, we have defined days for in-person/onsite collaboration and work-from-home days for individual-focused time. All U.S. employees who live within 50 miles of a Guardant facility will be required to be onsite on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. For positions based in San Diego, CA, the base salary range for this full-time position is $69,600 to $95,760. The range does not include benefits, and if applicable, bonus, commission, or equity.
Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including, but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. If you are selected to move forward, the recruiting team will provide details specific to the factors above.
Employee may be required to lift routine office supplies and use office equipment. Majority of the work is performed in a desk/office environment; however, there may be exposure to high noise levels, fumes, and biohazard material in the laboratory environment. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
