Join our Workforce Development partnership with Sierra View in Porterville, CA as an OB BSN Clinical Nursing Instructor. You’ll deliver hands-on learning in the clinical setting and skills lab, guiding students to meet course outcomes and become practice-ready professionals.
Schedule: Hours vary by clinical rotation and/or skills lab (days, evenings, weekends, or a combination).
Responsibilities
- Teach in the skills lab & clinical setting aligned with established curriculum and your faculty expertise.
- Apply adult-learning principles to create engaging, practice-focused lessons.
- Plan and supervise student clinical experiences in assigned healthcare facilities.
- Evaluate student performance against clinical learning outcomes per Unitek College policies & provide timely feedback.
- Maintain accurate records (attendance, skills check-offs) and support programmatic data collection.
- Match clinical assignments to both student learning goals and facility needs.
- Choose effective methods to observe, instruct, and assess students
- Use, or be eager to learn, online activities that enhance interactive teaching and learning.
- Submit required program reports/forms to the Academic Site Director on time.
- Stay current on relevant technologies and safety regulations.
- Participate in committees that support the nursing program’s mission; attend faculty meetings.
- Be accessible to students via office hours, email, and other appropriate channels.
- Other duties as assigned.

Pay Range: $55-$68/hr DOE
Qualifications:- Hold a valid, unencumbered license issued by the California Board of Registered Nursing;
- Eligible for approval by CA BRN as Instructor for Medical-Surgical, OB, Pediatrics, Mental Health, Community Health, or Geriatrics;
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university that includes course work in nursing, education, or administration, and academic preparation for the subject they teach to be considered as Assignment Faculty;
- BSN and currently enrolled in a Master’s program may be considered for a Clinical Teaching Assistant;
- Minimum four-years’ experience, with one year in the last five years, as a registered nurse providing direct patient care. Clinical experience within the last five years (clinical teaching in an RN program applies toward direct patient care.) Clinically competent as defined in CCR Section 1420(c);
- One-year experience teaching courses related to nursing or completion of a course which includes practice in teaching nursing preferred; and
- Expertise in one of the following areas of nursing – Mental Health, Medical-Surgical, Geriatrics, Pediatrics, L&D, Community Health, and/or Critical Care
