Job Title: Freezer Stocker
Reports To: Production Supervisor
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Description:
To support the overall mission of the organization through accurate stocking and product placement, proper rotation of product, communication of out-of-stocks or inaccurate data to ensure product is in salable condition.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Stocker
- Monitor and correct shelves that have items out of order or place.
- Replace empty shelf area with correct merchandise form the back stock area.
- Monitor and correct issues of stock not being rotated.
- Place newly received merchandise in the proper location.
- Notify supervisor of any potential out-of-stock or out-of-date issues that may arise.
- Receiving Support
- Help receiving clerks maintain an organized dock and backstock area.
- Cross Functional Relationship
- All warehouse task descriptions have a cross-functional relationship. Every employee is responsible for the safe operation and housekeeping in the warehouse.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Must be in good physical condition with the ability to bend, lift, and carry boxes up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to understand simple math, including addition and subtraction.
- Ability to read and understand invoices.
- Ability to understand good memory patterns by quickly and easily finding items on shelves.
- Ability to understand and demonstrate proper packing procedures, including heavy items on bottom and light or breakable items on top.
- Ability to understand sequential ordering and placement of orders in proper staging and placement of orders in proper staging area, insure first on is last off.
- Ability to load trailers to ensure safety of driver, merchandise and equipment.
- Ability to review invoice and check for order accuracy.
- Must have the ability to properly communicate with co-workers, supervisors and drivers of any issues, concerns or problems.
- Experience Preferred
- Use of forklift equipment and all powered industrial equipment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands of this job include light physical activity performing moderate strenuous activities of an administrative, productive and/or technical nature that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job as needed.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands or arms. The employee is occasionally required to talk or hear.
The employee must be able to regularly lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job in a warehouse environment.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly work near moving mechanical parts and in outdoor weather conditions. The employee must occasionally work in wet humid conditions and with the risk of electrical shock.
The noise level of the work environment is usually loud.
As with all other employee positions, additional responsibilities and duties from other job descriptions may be required on an “as needed” basis. These responsibilities and duties may or may not be related to your department.
Education
- High School Degree or Equivalent
Requirements:
- Must have the ability to work in extreme temperature conditions.
- Must have the ability to work Sunday – Friday, as needed.
