Basic Qualifications
Credit Representative
Education/Training: A high school diploma or equivalent; AIB related courses or associate degree in related field preferred.
Experience: A minimum of four (4) years’ work experience is normally required or a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a related field is normally preferred.
Skill(s): Clearly communicates in English; proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; moderate computer skills; knowledge of credit application process and/or documentation requirements; visual and auditory skills.
Credit Specialist
Education/Training: A high school diploma or equivalent; AIB related courses or associate degree in related field preferred; specialized education and training related to loan regulations.
Experience: A minimum of two years’ experience as a Credit Representative or three (3) years’ experience in related lending positions normally required.
Skill(s): Clearly communicates in English; proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills; excellent interpersonal relations and communicative skills; moderate computer skills; demonstrated knowledge of credit application process and/or documentation requirements; proficient knowledge of lending regulations; visual and auditory skills.
General Responsibilities
Responsible for performing a variety of duties to support the loan origination function; coordinating work within the department, as well as with other departments; reporting pertinent information to the immediate supervisor; responding to inquiries or requests for information.
Essential Duties
Credit Representative
Performs a variety of duties to support the loan origination function of which the following are illustrative:
- Underwrite new consumer loan applications in accordance with the Bank’s lending policy.
- Coordinates the receipt of supporting documentation for new consumer loan applications
- Prepares and sends appropriate disclosures as required by regulation.
- Verifies data as required by the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act.
- Prepare adverse action letters for declined loans consumer and commercial loans.
- Prepares closing documents for consumer and commercial loans via the loan origination platform.
- Inputs appropriate computer data for new loans to core servicing system.
- Uploads documentation to document imaging system for new loans
- Disburses Proceeds for all consumer and commercial loans.
Essential Duties (Credit Specialist)
In addition to the above the Credit Specialist is also responsible for more complex duties, such as:
- Assists with maintaining the department pipeline log.
- Ensures information required by the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act is gathered and entered on the Loan Application Register
- Verifies a variety of credit information which will become part of the file.
- Prepares closing documents for all more complex loans via the loan origination platform.
- Prepares reports for supervisor as needed.
- Helps maintain departmental procedures
- Suggest improvements to processes and procedures to enhance efficiency
Essential Duties (Representative and Specialist)
- Responds to inquiries relating to his/her area, or to requests from customers, other Bank personnel, etc., within given time frames and within established policy.
- Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the department as well as with other departments in order to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information.
- Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the workplace.
- Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the Bank's compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested, or according to an established schedule; compiles information as necessary or as directed and provides data to appropriate Bank personnel.
Ancillary Duties
Perform tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or re-designed depending upon individual circumstances.
