Position Overview:

QinetiQ US is looking to hire an experienced laborer to support operations at our Fort Belvoir, VA customer location.

 

The Laborer performs tasks that require mainly physical abilities and effort involving little or no specialized skill or prior work experience. The following tasks are typical of this occupation:

Responsibilities:

• Loads and unloads trucks, and other conveyances, moves supplies and materials to proper location; stacks materials for storage or 
  binning,
• Collects refuse and salvageable materials, and digs, fills, and tamps earth excavations.
• The Laborer levels ground using pick, shovel, tamper and rake. 
• Shovels concrete and snow; cleans culverts and ditches, cuts tree, brush, and grass.
• Operates power lawnmowers, moves, and arranges heavy pieces of office and household furniture, equipment, and appliances.
• Moves heavy pieces of automotive, medical engineering, and other types of machinery and equipment.
• Spreads sand and salt on icy roads and walkways, and picks up leaves and trash.

Required Qualifications:

• GED or High School Diploma. 
• 0-3 Years’ experience in mechanical maintenance. Associate and Bachelor of Science degree in any technical discipline can be substituted for years’ experience
• Valid U.S. Driver’s license required.
• Must be able to understand, speak, read, and write English fluently.
• Work requires the ability to perform the following physical activies: walking, standing, stooping, bending, twisting, crawling, reaching, lifting, sitting, and squatting. Work may require walking, standing, sitting, and working in confined spaces or at high elevations for extended periods of time.
• Weight lifting requirement of 60-80lbs and ability to climb.
• Must have an active DOD Secret or higher level clearance. #qinetiqclearedjob
