Position Overview:
The Reliability Manager will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the site’s reliability program, with a focus on optimizing asset performance, reducing unplanned downtime, and extending equipment life cycles. This role requires a seasoned mechanical engineering professional with a proven track record of building and sustaining a comprehensive reliability program in an industrial environment.
Position Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and oversee a site-wide reliability program that aligns with corporate and operational goals.
- Establish preventive and predictive maintenance strategies, including condition-based monitoring and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM).
- Develop and maintain asset criticality rankings to prioritize reliability efforts.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively.
- Monitor and analyze equipment performance data to identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for improvement.
- Oversee lubrication, vibration analysis, thermography, and other predictive maintenance programs.
- Partner with Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering teams to embed reliability best practices into daily work processes.
- Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to reliability engineers, planners, and maintenance personnel.
- Act as the primary subject matter expert for reliability-related initiatives and technologies.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
- Valid Drivers License and a good driving record are required to drive company vehicles on and off property.
- Minimum of 10 years of reliability engineering experience in a heavy industrial environment (mining, chemical processing, power generation, manufacturing, or similar).
- Demonstrated success in building and leading a site-wide reliability program from the ground up.
- Strong understanding of rotating equipment, mechanical systems, and asset management principles.
- Proficiency with CMMS/EAM systems and reliability analysis tools.
- Experience in predictive and preventive maintenance technologies (vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, ultrasonic testing, etc.).
- Must foster a positive team environment with engineers, management, craftspeople, and suppliers and contractors.

Required PPE may include, but is not limited to, hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves, and any other protective equipment as required.
Working Conditions - Our facility sits at an elevation of 4,700 feet. Employees may be subject to extreme weather conditions when working in an outdoor setting (heat and cold, wind). Work is at an open pit mine or manufacturing/chemical plant setting, which may include exposure to moving mechanical parts, toxic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, explosives, fumes, or airborne particles.
Physical Demands - Manual dexterity; sense of touch; sense of smell; speaking clearly; hearing-speech range; hearing – all ranges; seeing, reading and comprehensions; seeing – distant/near; depth perception; color vision. While performing the job responsibilities, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to stand and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel and to manipulate laboratory equipment. The employee is occasionally required to walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Employees must pass a full-face respiratory fit test. Employees must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must be able to work in PPE level C. These requirements are representative, but not all-inclusive, of the knowledge, skill, and ability required of the employee.
