About the role:
We’re looking for a Maintenance & Movers Team Member to join our Operations team at The Lighthouse Brooklyn Campus. This role is all about keeping the campus running at its best—supporting daily maintenance, production load-ins, event setups, and logistics across our creative spaces. From fixing small repairs to helping prepare studios and event areas, you’ll play a key role in making sure our members, guests, and creators enjoy a seamless experience. If you enjoy hands-on work, problem-solving, and being part of a team that makes things happen, this role is for you.
Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:
- Conduct routine inspections and handle minor facility repairs; escalate larger issues to vendors.
- Assist with production load-ins and load-outs, ensuring safe and efficient handling of equipment.
- Support setup and logistics for events, meetings, and productions (furniture, décor, AV equipment).
- Maintain outdoor spaces, including landscaping, sweeping, and debris removal.
- Safely move and organize furniture, equipment, and materials across campus areas.
- Keep tools, equipment, and supplies stocked, organized, and in working order.
- Partner with Stewarding, Studio, and Events teams to keep all spaces clean, safe, and ready to use.
- Assist with event breakdowns and reset spaces for daily campus operations.
- Proactively identify maintenance or operational issues and provide timely solutions.
Here’s what we’re looking for:
- Experience in facilities maintenance, logistics, event setup, landscaping, or a related role.
- Basic knowledge of tools, repairs, maintenance techniques, and safety procedures.
- Organized and adaptable, able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- A team player with strong collaboration skills across Events, Studio, and Operations teams.
- Proactive and solutions-focused, with strong attention to detail.
- Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Enthusiasm for supporting creators and contributing to a vibrant campus community.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 55 lbs).
- Frequent standing, bending, and walking throughout shifts.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends for events and productions.
- Mobility across campus and outdoor areas as required.
