Your Role:
Responsible for implementing the sales/support action plan and managing the support efforts throughout the field application science team to maximize the sales and profitability of Miltenyi Biotec, Inc. Responsible for hiring and maintaining an effective field application science team to facilitate the achievement of sales targets of the organization for imaging instruments, accessories and reagents. Accountable for learning and directly supporting the UltraMicroscope and MACSima platform with new installation training and refining the long terms support processes for Miltenyi Imaging platforms with relevant stakeholders. Member of Sales management team contributing to the overall goals, strategies and direction of Miltenyi Biotec, Inc.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage day to day efforts and coordinate calendar of assigned team to ensure adequate pre- and post-sales support for designated products. Assist in setting of priorities where needed, based on business drivers.
- Learn the Imaging training process and support process to ensure the success of select priority customers with installation training and follow up support
- Work with sales leadership, application science, technical support, service, product management and R&D to refine and elevate the support processes for the Imaging platform of reagents, instruments and MACS iQ View software.
- Develop the team by regularly traveling in the field, providing coaching and feedback, by setting goals and objectives and through defined performance measures.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through effective installation of instruments and by aligning best practices and processes regionally for customer training and support.
- Create customer feedback mechanism to foster a culture of customer service and effective balance of stakeholder needs both internally and externally.
- Work with relevant stakeholders to refine a model for team support of instrument demonstrations and seminar/workshop support when necessary. Work closely and collaboratively with the Science team and global stakeholders to identify, prioritize and meet activity level requirements.
- Cultivate a culture of teamwork to foster collaborative relationships amongst field sales, marketing, and applications development.
- Manage relationships with early adopters and key opinion leaders in academia and biopharma to create foundation for market engagement and future cell analysis instruments and/or reagent solutions.
- Collect and consolidate voice of customer feedback and strategic market information for feedback sessions with marketing, R&D, and sales.
- Hire new team members as required by the business needs of the organization which will contribute to our values of creativity, innovation and excellence.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required, M.S. or PhD preferred; 5 years of experience within the life sciences industry with demonstrated success in field application sales or support with at least two years in a management or team leader function; Or a combination of education and experience.
- Must be familiar with a variety of scientific/medical sales concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Proven leadership skills.
- Technical expertise in microscopy with spatial biology and/or light sheet imaging preferred.
- Travel 50% to 75%

Work Environment:

This job is performed in a variety of facilities. Each person performing this job must have a home office environment, which is temperature controlled. This job requires the person to be mobile to visit customer sites and may travel 50%. Due to the travel requirements, this position may be exposed to natural elements of nature. Used research/clinical equipment may be handled in this job and strict safety guidelines and SOPs must be followed, and Personal Protective Equipment must be worn. All persons performing this job will receive appropriate training prior to engaging in work requiring Personal Protective Equipment or SOP procedures. The hiring range for this position is expected to fall between $152,320 - $179,200 (Gaithersburg and Boston areas); $137,088 - $161,280 (Philadelphia area), reflecting the range candidates can reasonably expect to be considered for at time of offer, based on factors such as experience, internal equity, and qualifications.
In addition to the base salary, the role is also eligible to participate in our broader compensation package, which includes performance-based incentives. The total compensation of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialization, skills, abilities, and training. The above range represents the Company’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
