1. Expertise and services in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning design capability,
providing specifications and designs utilizing the most recent versions of computer aided
design software.
2. Calculations for air flow, heat load, and controls required to develop designs which
include the proper specification of equipment, ductwork, and ancillary systems for chilled
water fed units and direct expansion units for large administrative buildings, production
facilities, and warehouses.
3. Sequence of operations as required for air handlers, chillers, and controls as part of design
packages.
4. Activation and test plans to ensure all designed equipment has specified testing plans to
ensure compliance with Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National
Association (SMACNA), ASHRAE and other industry standards.
5. System piping expertise, including the ability to develop high fidelity riser diagrams,
perform flow calculations, and to provide specifications for piping systems, including
piping, valves, backflow preventers, strainers, expansion tanks, insulation, and proper
material selections.
6. Expertise in chilled water, hot water, potable water, and waste-water design.
7. Controls expertise and proficiency and knowledge in the installation and operation of
direct digital controls and/or programmable logic units used to support large facility
integrated environmental controls.
8. Security and fire protection systems expertise to support Lenel® security systems and
Siemens® and JCI® fire alarm systems, to include the ability to develop system designs
and specifications, and to provide oversight of the installation, test, and maintenance of
these systems.
9. Oversight of the design and construction of mechanical systems for facility and
infrastructure projects including but not limited to: building construction, pumps,
condensers, heat exchangers, cooling towers, valves, tanks, piping, HVAC, finite
element analysis, water and air flow analysis, and computational fluid dynamics.
10. Proficiency with SMACNA, ASHRAE, and other mechanical industry standards.
