Coordinates and executes activities of the logistics department within their area of ownership. Assigns work and facilitates compliance to company policies and procedures. This person will work to grow the capability of the people in their area as well as support and promote new reliability tools into the current systems in a way that is meaningful to drive continuous improvement and produce extraordinary results.
Responsibilities:
- Serves as interim acting leader when supervisor is unavailable.
- Leads and directs the work of other team members in the area.
- Active member of the area team and is expected to perform all duties required in the area.
- Ensures all team members are available at the start of the shift and have proper equipment, and tools.
- Train employees as necessary in machine operation and standard operating procedures.
- Capture data to track performance and report out as necessary.
- Delivers complete and accurate paperwork at the end of shift.
- Provide support for coordinating trash removal from the facility.
- Escalates Safety, Quality, Reliability and team members concerns to Production Supervisor or Production Management.
- Manages and makes updates on time corrections and schedule for the associates in their area in preparation for the review and sign-off of receiving supervisor.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Forklift and pallet jack certification is preferred.
- Ability to multitask
- Able to operate basic computer, phone, and copier functions.
- Ability to read, write, and understand basic English.
- Complete basic math problems.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop for 10+ hours.
- Frequently lift, push, or pull up to 60lbs.
- Working conditions may require you to work in tall, high and tight spaces.
- Ability to wear PPE equipment for 8-10 hours (i.e., Steel toes, Hard hat, hair/beard net & hearing protection)
- Ability to adhere to GMP policies when entering the production areas.
Work Environment:
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is exposed to cold, wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and requires that hearing protection be worn in production areas at all times. This area will have strong smells and sights of raw food ingredients.
