JOB TITLE: JAM Counselor & Youth Special Event Attendant SUPERVISES: N/A
REPORTS TO: Clubhouse Manager, Youth Activities Director, Youth Coordinator
JOB SUMMARY:
To ensure children are in a safe, secure, and fun environment while participating in activities at the club, create safe, clean and appealing club facilities. Responsible for observing and enforcing club safety rules and guidelines during JAM sessions and/or special youth events.
JOB TASKS:
- Working knowledge of Club policies and guidelines as outlined in the Houston Country Club Employee Handbook
- Greets all guests arriving at the club in a professional, friendly, and engaging manner.
- Anticipates guests’ needs, responds promptly, and acknowledges all guests, however busy and whatever the time of day.
- Enforcing club rules of safety and conduct.
- Implement and assist with daily activities, meals, restroom breaks, set up and clean up
- Adheres to all club safety standards, including safety procedures for adverse weather conditions.
Assist with opening and closing duties for the pool, assist with event set up, and organize the pool deck. Which includes and not limited to:
1. Set up activities
2. Inform Youth Coordinator of any behavior issue
3. Perform regular check for equipment safety
4. Active Participation for all events
5. Remove trash and debris from all areas related to youth events
6. Keeping up with children and event activities
7. Complete closing duties
8. Follow all HCC policies and procedure regarding protocols for working, requesting time off, and get shifts covered.
9. Have a positive, friendly, helpful attitude and demeanor
10. Assist with records, attendance, and accident reports.
11. Work closely with other peers to ensure a positive guest experience.
12. Perform other duties as prescribed by management.
13. Reporting any damages or incidences to the supervisor.
Requirements
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Must be 16 years of age or older to work in this department.
Experience in related job is helpful.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Must be able to work in a warm and humid environment.
Working conditions are often slippery and wet.
Adhere to HCC cellphone and privacy policies
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to work a flexible schedule and/or overtime if needed.
Must be able to work well with others as a team and help co-workers as needed.
Perform other duties as requested or required.
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Current American Red Cross CPR/First Aid certifications
