Geocgi is seeking a Senior IT Systems Administrator to provide Tier 3 IT and Data Management technical support for our client, NATO NCIA, at Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE). This role is mission-critical and focused on maintaining the availability, reliability, and performance of enterprise IT and data management services. The position is based onsite in Mons, Belgium and includes participation in an on-call rotation, as well as occasional travel to other NATO sites.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide 3rd level technical support for IT and Data Management Services within DCIS, ensuring service availability meets defined targets.
• Perform fault diagnosis using IT and Data Management Services Management Systems.
• Supervise and execute routine maintenance of IT infrastructure, management appliances, and other related equipment.
• Complete and maintain system documentation, including updates to reflect changes and configurations.
• Conduct backups and restores of IT and Data Management Services devices as needed.
• Perform remote fault diagnosis and resolution for IT and data services.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate efforts and ensure smooth execution of software support and development activities.
• Participate in an on-call scheduled rotation.

The following are requirements of the Senior IT Systems Administrator:
• U.S. Citizen. With Active U.S. Passport.
• Must hold an Active DoD Secret Clearance or DoD Top Secret Clearance.
• Report onsite to SHAPE in Mons, Belgium.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the following areas:
• Virtualization technologies and operating systems.
• Implementing and troubleshooting infrastructure failover clusters (VMware and Microsoft).
• Latest server, storage, client, and networking hardware technologies.
• Antivirus management systems (e.g., McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator).
• Enterprise systems management tools and methods (e.g., SCOM, SCCM, SCVMM).
• Email and collaboration technologies (e.g., MS Exchange, Skype for Business).
• Cloud computing systems (e.g., Microsoft RDS, VMware Horizon).
• Active Directory Federation Services design and implementation in enterprise environments.
• Web portal technologies and high-availability database systems (e.g., SQL Clusters).
• At least 1 year experience supported by professional certification in implementing and administering COTS products such as:
MS Windows Server, Linux, Oracle, MS SQL, VMware, MS Hyper-V, MS SharePoint, MS Active Directory, MS Exchange, MS Skype for Business, and client OS (Windows/Linux).
• Knowledge of configuration management practices and tools.
• Familiarity with ITIL IT service management model and Service Transition processes.
• Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with recent experience demonstrating strong briefing ability.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while being an effective team contributor.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage with users, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with strong networking abilities.
The following are preferred of the Senior IT Systems Administrator.
• Knowledge of NATO responsibilities, structure, and organizational environment is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with NATO operational environments, policies, and security requirements.
• ITIL Foundation Certification or higher.
• VMware VCP, Microsoft MCSE, or equivalent vendor certifications.
• Experience with high-availability enterprise environments supporting global organizations.
• Prior experience with enterprise migrations, system upgrades, and disaster recovery testing.
• Advanced scripting or automation experience (e.g., PowerShell, Python) to streamline maintenance and troubleshooting.
The annual base salary range for this position is anticipated to be $95,000-$115,000 USD. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position.
