We are currently looking for interns for the Spring 2026 Semester!

Want to know more? Let’s talk about the technicalities! Direct experience opportunities may include, but are not limited to:

• Assist in supporting individuals and families in recovery from substance use or mental health challenges by helping identify and reduce barriers to recovery.

• Participate in harm reduction and abstinence-focused initiatives under supervision, learning strategies to support individuals with addictive behaviors.
• Shadow and support recovery professionals in guiding individuals through stabilization and long-term recovery maintenance.
• Contribute to employment counseling efforts by helping gather intake information, exploring vocational goals, and identifying relevant resources.
• Help track and document progress in treatment, social integration, and vocational development using established outcome monitoring tools.
• Support empowerment-focused activities that promote self-advocacy, personal agency, and collaborative decision-making for individuals in recovery.

Current enrollment in a Certified Recovery Peer Advocate program is required.

Location Information:

Horizon internships are offered at various locations, with placement determined based on availability. As part of your application, you’ll have the opportunity to indicate your preferred locations. Since spaces are limited, we encourage you to apply promptly to maximize your chances of placement.

Schedule Information:

Our internship supervisors provide a flexible schedule for interns. However, please note that their availability is currently limited to Monday through Friday, with no weekend options at this time.

This internship is for the Spring 2026 with a start date in January 2026.
