Hours/FTE: .8125 FTE/6.5 hours per day
Salary: $18.72 – $22.85

JOB SUMMARY
Leads and coordinates Food Service team members at a individual schools in preparing nutritious and attractive meals for students and staff while maintaining a clean kitchen and cafeteria and observing all Health Department regulations to create a safe and healthy work environment. Delegates the work of others. Performs duties with minimal supervision.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties of this position include the following. Employees in this position perform some or all of the following tasks. Other related duties may be assigned.
1. Follows and maintains knowledge of all applicable District and department policy (ies) and procedures.
2. Prepares school meals including participating in the planning, cutting, cooking and preparation of food items.
3. Sets-up serving lines and serving of food.
4. Measures accurate food temperatures.
5. Checks freezers, refrigerators and dishwashers to be sure proper operating temperature is being maintained and sanitation standards are being upheld.
6. Adjusts to changes in food production.
7. Accurately sets-up and stores equipment used to serve food.
8. Organizes and operates a number of different food service stations.
9. Shuts off, breaks down, and sanitizes designated areas and items.
10. Orders, receives and verifies supply delivery and rotates into existing stock. Computes and maintains accurate inventory records.
11. Knows and follows all safety and sanitary rules and regulations related to food handling.
12. Maintains a safe and clean working environment.
13. Maintains a high standard of personal cleanliness and good grooming as per sanitation code and District and department policy.
14. Maintains appropriate certifications and training hours as required.
15. Deposits money into student accounts; takes lunch tickets; runs milk, lunch and deposit reports and totals and maintains records as required electronically and in printed format.
16. Maintains quality and portion control of food served.
17. Provides direction and training to Food Service staff.
18. Delegates work appropriately to other Food Service staff.
19. Reports safety, sanitary and fire hazards immediately to supervisor.
20. While working collaboratively with others, implements decisions within ASD established policies and procedures.
21. Professionally represents the school and the District in interactions with parents, community, staff, and students and resolves conflict in a professional manner.
22. Works collaboratively with District and building administrators and other department staff to provide reliable service to customers.
23. Communicate clearly with coworkers and other staff.
24. Participate as an effective team member.
25. Provide impeccable customer service.
26. lnteracts thoughtfully and courteously with students, staff, administrators and parents and resolves conflict in a professional manner.
27. Maintains appropriate certifications and training hours as required.
28. Attends work regularly and is punctual.
MARGINAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Marginal duties of this position include the following. Employees in this position perform some or all of the following tasks. Other related duties may be assigned.
1. Attends in-service trainings and staff meetings.
2. Responds to requests for special food service needs (field trips, catering, etc.)
3. Trains student workers.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises and directs the work of all kitchen staff including student workers. All school employees have some responsibility for supervising students and assisting in maintaining a safe environment.
