Job Title: Oil Change / Lube / Tire Technician

Reports To:  Transportation Director

Classification: Full Time Classified Employee

Terms of Employment: Pay and work year as reviewed and established annually by the Board of Education

Job Summary:

USD 473 is seeking a dependable and skilled Oil Change / Lube / Tire Technician to join our Transportation Department. This position plays a vital role in maintaining the safety and efficiency of the district’s vehicle fleet, including buses and service vehicles. The ideal candidate will have experience in preventative maintenance and minor mechanical work.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine oil changes and lubrication on district vehicles

• Inspect and rotate tires; patch or replace as needed

• Monitor vehicle fluids, belts, hoses, and filters

• Maintain service logs and inspection records

• Assist with light mechanical repairs and diagnostics

• Keep work areas clean and organized

• Follow all safety protocols and district maintenance procedures

  * Fill in for routes and trips as needed

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED

• Experience in vehicle maintenance or related field preferred

• Valid Kansas driver’s license (CDL with passenger endorsement preferred or ability to obtain)

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in physically demanding environments

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Pass background check and drug/alcohol screening in accordance with district policy

  * You will have 1 year to obtain a class B CDL with P/S and airbrakes. (We will train and help obtain)

  * Must provide your own hand tools.
