Crisis Counselor/Outreach Worker
Department: Project Cope Location: Lakeland, FLPosition Description:
Individuals in this position perform a variety of duties consistent with the needs of the Project Cope scope of services. Good interpersonal skills, good organization skills, and the ability to work independently are prerequisites of this position. This is a temporary 6-month long position.
Position Expectation:

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Works with individuals, families, and groups to provide outreach, emotional support, individual and group crisis counseling, public education, and referrals when needed.
- Is synonymous with term �outreach worker.�
- Represents program in the community and networks with other agencies and partners to ensure needs of survivors are met.
- Provides presentations to community groups on disaster reactions, coping skills, stress management, and the Project Hope program.
- May use the mobile application to complete data forms.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Training and Experience:
- The successful applicant will possess a high school diploma.
- Two to three years� experience in substance abuse disorders and/or mental health counseling is preferred.
