ROLE:                                 Teaching Assistant (Pre-school/EYFS Phase with opportunities to develop skills to support across primary range) Must have relevant qualification to work in pre-school at level 3.

SCHOOL:                           Westover Primary School

HOURS:                             Monday to Friday term time only 12.00-5.30 this will include supporting EYFS children within wrap around care. 

CONTRACT:                      Permanent

SALARY:                            PCC Band 3 £24,796 to £25,201 FTE

HET is a large, fast paced Trust with currently 37 academies across the South Coast.  Linked to 6 community-based partnerships, there are 34 primary academies, 2 secondary and 1 hospital school.

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant Early Years team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work across our Nursery and Reception classes, supporting children’s development through play, exploration, and structured learning.

JOB/PERSON SUMMARY:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality early years education.
  • Assist in planning and implementing engaging activities aligned with the EYFS framework.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to children with varying needs.
  • Observe and record children’s progress, contributing to assessments and reports.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
