The opportunity
This is a brilliant opportunity for an experienced People Partner or Head of People to join Haymarket’s forward-thinking and proactive People team
The Business

Responsibilities:The role:
- Strategic HR Leadership: Working with our Director, People and Communications to develop and implement a people strategy that aligns with Haymarket’s business objectives. This includes workforce planning, talent management, and ensuring compliance with employment law.
- Employee Experience and Culture: Championing a positive and inclusive company culture. You will be responsible for enhancing employee engagement, overseeing our diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, and managing employee relations to create a supportive and motivating workplace.
- Organisational Effectiveness: Driving performance and efficiency across Haymarket. This involves designing and managing our performance review process, developing competitive compensation and benefits programs, and creating learning and development opportunities that help our employees grow and succeed.
- People Partnering:
- Building strong relationships with senior leadership and line managers, advising on resourcing, performance management, and change management.
- Driving organisational change by linking HR policies to business objectives. Support all aspects of people operations, including systems, performance management, and promotions.
- Monitoring service quality and lead business change initiatives (e.g., TUPE, restructures, redundancies).
- Support policy development and implementation
- Recruitment & Retention: Partnering with our Recruitment Manager on recruitment strategies and procedures for internal and external hiring, ensuring alignment with DEI ambitions.
- Employee Relations:
- Providing comprehensive and consistent advice on ER issues, including company policy interpretation (e.g., disciplinary, grievance, appeal).
- Proactively improving performance management processes by developing manager competence and confidence.
- Promoting employee engagement and communication.
- Team leadership: Managing and developing the People team
Other Responsibilities: Undertaking ad hoc project work and staying updated on legislative changes to identify impacts on internal policies.

The successful candidate will need to have the following:
Essential
- Proven experience in a senior HR role, ideally in a matrixed environment
- Sound knowledge of UK employment legislation and best practice
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- A strategic thinker with the ability to translate business needs into effective HR initiatives
- Proficiency in interpreting financial metrics and key performance indicators
- Ability to coach senior leaders and drive the people agenda
- Subject matter knowledge of DEI trends and best practice
- Ability to handle conflict and stressful discussions sensitively and effectively.

- Experience with talent-mapping and succession planning
- Strong business writing, presentation, and delivery skills
- Excellent interpersonal, diplomacy, and negotiation skills
