POSITION SUMMARY
The Transportation Coordinator will be part of a team responsible for on-going operational needs for the transport and logistics department of the sales administration team. The individual will be responsible for planning and managing deliveries to customers once paper has been produced at the mills, while ensuring on-time shipments from Kruger's production sites. The incumbent proposes alternatives when problems arise, consistent with the objective of the client's requirements of delivering at the lowest possible cost.
The Transport Coordinator reports to the Manager of Transport Operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Act as the main point of contact for day-to-day transportation tasks, work with the carriers, custom brokers, Customer Service Representatives, mills and Salespersons.
Coordinate all modes of transport leaving the mills, ensuring on-time delivery to customer.
Ensure equipment is available at the mill 24-48 hours prior to the expected production date (i.e. trailers, rail cars)
Coordinate priorities with the mill shipping departments and external warehouses, in conjunction with Customer Service
Troubleshoot and act of any transportation issues as they arise.
Assist our customs broker when documentation is needed.
Identify opportunities and take direct action on situations that could benefit to be handled centrally.
Monitor operations and analyze customer orders for the next 7 days to prevent issues and act proactively on potential problems.
Track equipment availability, guide and take appropriate action to prevent and resolve issues.
Answer track & trace requests from Sales, Customer Service Representatives (CSR’s) and Customers, by leveraging the Transportation Management System (TMS).
Analyze operational data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
Identify and lead process improvement initiatives across transport operations to enhance efficiency, reduce delays, and optimize resource utilization.
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data entered in the transportation module in K2GEN.
Update and consult the Transportation Management System (TMS) on a need-to-basis.
Keep up to date with all activities related to transportation.
Assist on various projects as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
University diploma or equivalent experience in transportation is required.
Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma is an asset.
EXPERIENCE
· At least 3 years of experience in the field of transportation in a manufacturing environment (trucks, containers, intermodal)
· Knowledge of JD Edwards software or any other ERP system (an asset)
· Knowledge and experience in shipping (an asset)

Knowledge of English is required for this specific position as Kruger deals with partners across North America and the successful candidate will be required to communicate frequently with them.
