The successful candidate will be a Junior Claims Adjuster and will be working on-site work setup in Edmonton, Alberta. They will be actively involved in evaluating loss claims with a focus on Inland Marine insurance through loss investigation and be responsible for negotiating settlements following provincial licensing requirements, while maintaining adequate production levels and customer relationships.
Responsibilities
- Reviews and analyzes experts’ reports
- Work with the senior members for manuscript wording analysis and preparation as needed
- Interact with senior management on referral items
- Detailed recording of file activities and transactions in both Crawford and Company and client-based systems
- Maintains accurate expense accounts
- Work with the manager to maintain client relations
- Ability to liaise and work with all facets of the insurance community, including brokers, risk managers, legal counsel, and regulators
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of insurance experience in Contractor’s Equipment, Cargo Liability, Rigger’s (lift) Liability
- Motivated and eager to learn business while working with a senior adjuster
- Knowledge of Heavy Equipment is an asset but not required
- Insurance policy interpretation and experience in making recommendations to the market
- Has an active level 1 Alberta adjusting license/ or is working towards one
- Organized and strong communication/writing skills
- Focused on expanding knowledge base and building on career growth in the industry
- Must be a team player with outstanding customer service skills
- Willingness to work in a dynamic environment with opportunity for career growth
