About the Team
The Enabling Advanced Analytics team is part of Business Excellence within P&C Re Operations. We are responsible for the development and maintenance of the P&C Re Operations analytics landscape. We support functions such as Underwriting Operations, Technical Accounting & Claims Operations, Claims Management, In-force Management and Client Audit by generating actionable business insights. The team works closely with senior stakeholders and serves as the bridge between business and IT.
About the Role
This role is based in Bangalore and will work closely with the Advanced Analytics Lead, other team members, IT, and business stakeholders. You will help solve business problems using data-driven approaches, lead and support projects end-to-end, and contribute to the evolution of our analytics platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate business needs into quantitative questions and develop data-driven solutions.
- Deliver end-to-end data science solutions, including building and deploying AI/ML models, and recommending process improvements.
- Apply statistical, algorithmic, data mining, and visualization techniques to generate business insights.
- Identify data gaps and propose improvements to the data collection processes.
- Take ownership of projects, manage stakeholders effectively, and deliver innovative solutions.
About You
Technical Skills
- Master’s degree in STEM/Economics/Statistics/Engineering with strong programming and analytical skills.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Data Science or a related field.
- Solid knowledge of descriptive, prescriptive, and predictive modelling.
- Strong foundation in advanced statistics and probability theory; experience in scientific computing.
- Proficiency in Python, PySpark/Spark, and common ML/AI libraries.
- Preferred: SQL, R, Power BI; re/insurance industry experience; experience in diverse, complex projects.
Soft Skills
- Clear and concise communicator (oral and written), able to adapt style for different audiences.
- Strong problem-solver with a consulting mindset; comfortable with ambiguity and working in a matrix setup.
- Curious, open-minded, and eager to learn.
- Able to tell compelling stories with data and ask the right questions to understand problems.
- Attention to detail while keeping the big picture in mind.
