Job Title: Receiver
Classification: Hourly (Non-exempt)
Location: Rosemount, MN
Working Schedule: Full-time
Position Overview:
The Receiver supports operations by receiving, inspecting and grading inbound scrap.
Compensation and Benefits:
The expected starting wage for this position is $20.00/hr. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:
- Identify potentially dangerous materials coming into the operations, ensure that the material received is quarantined, downgraded, or acceptable to be used for production.
- Correctly label materials that are directly chargeable and verify that they match the Purchase Order.
- Identify materials high in non-metallic’s that can lead to uncontrollable emissions
- Ensure scrap is properly received to help fulfill finance schedule and needs
- Read melt stock numbers to identify the types of materials being used.
- Set up materials to assist in the operation and organization of the mill.
- Fill out paperwork completely, with deduction information and weights.
- Take pictures of any contamination on each load and upload on load scheduler.
- Enter required information into the electronic system.
- Report non-conforming material to the proper individual.
- Report any visible safety hazards and equipment maintenance needs or failures.
- Follow all Safety guidelines and procedures: Wear proper protective equipment and clothing, keep work area clean and free from clutter, and obey all safety rules pertaining to your work area and forklift use
- Improves operations job knowledge by attending training sessions.
- Contributes to operations and organization success by welcoming related, different, and new requests; helping others accomplish job results.
- Positively communicate and interpret company policies and procedures.
Education/Experience/Skills:
- No previous experience required
- High School diploma preferred
- Problem solving skills, organization and planning ahead
- Scrap knowledge and ability to identify various contaminates
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heavy equipment and machinery.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as required by production needs.
- Ability to work in various temperature environments as needed in manufacturing settings.
Must have the ability to understand and follow written and oral work instructions, operations, safety procedures, and hazardous labels.
