The Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor at CLEARFORK ACADEMY is responsible for providing addiction and mental health treatment to patients in the Resident Treatment (RTC), Partial Hospital Program (PHP), Intensive Outpatient program (IOP) and outpatient program. As part of a multidisciplinary team, the LCDC will perform direct services, group psychotherapy, psychoeducation assessments, consultations and crisis interventions, and recovery groups (AA, NA, CR) within the scope of the respective individual’s license.

Age of Patient Population Served: Adolescent and Young Adult Females
Population Served: Person’s meeting DSM 5 criteria for substance use disorders with or without co-occurring psychiatric illness.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Keeping abreast of current literature and developments in the field and attending required agency trainings.
- Appropriate and timely documentation of clinical service provided utilizing EHR software.
- Ensures to use the utmost of care in protecting the confidentiality of client records in accordance with State and Federal laws.
- Collaborates with medical, administrative, billing, and recovery coach staff regarding clients in order to advocate for client progress during treatment.
- Provide Professional and ethical therapy to individuals with substance abuse and/or co-occurring mental health diagnoses in treatment through group, individual counseling, family counseling, and education.
- Conduct psychoeducational groups based on CLEARFORK ACADEMY’s materials, the Clearfork Way.
- Lead process groups in conjunction with the weekly programming materials.
- Lead and schedule clients on peer recovery concepts found in AA, NA, CR.
- Act as a temporary sponsor to those needing/ wanting sponsorship.
- Attend Alumni groups and events as necessary.
- Must have a desire and ability to facilitate graduation ceremonies, wilderness concepts, and other experiential activities.
- Attend and participate in clinical treatment team meetings.
- Complete timely notes on all activities.
- Documenting casework in a timely manner in compliance with agency policies and procedures, including writing objective case notes, progress and discharge reports, and other timely status reports as requested by the supervisor and according to Texas & Joint Commission standards.

Requirements
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education, Training, and Experience Required:
Associate Degree in Associated Field of Study (Preferred)
Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC) as defined by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS)
1 to 3 years work experience in a field directly related to mental health or substance abuse treatment
Current CPR/FA certification
Current Handle with Care Physical Holding Instructor Certification
