Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Purchasing & Inventory Manager to oversee our supply chain from forecasting through purchase order placement. This role will own vendor management, inventory control, and procurement to ensure we have the right parts and materials on hand to meet aggressive production and sales goals.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Own the entire purchasing process: forecast demand, create purchase orders, and track deliveries
- Maintain accurate inventory levels across all parts, components, and finished goods
- Analyze sales forecasts and production schedules to determine procurement needs
- Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve delivery or quality issues
- Track inventory turns, safety stock, and usage trends to optimize cash flow and avoid shortages
- Collaborate with Production, Sales, and Finance to align inventory with business needs
- Ensure purchase orders are accurate and coded correctly in our ERP/accounting system
- Provide regular reporting on inventory health, order status, and material costs
- Identify and implement process improvements in procurement and inventory management
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in purchasing, inventory control, or supply chain management (electrical manufacturing environment preferred)
- Professional certification (ISM, CPSM, etc.)
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems (QuickBooks Enterprise or similar)
- Advanced Excel skills and comfortable with forecasting models
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to balance day-to-day tactical buying with long-term inventory planning
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
