Salary : Starting at $22.00/hr + up to a $2/hr shift differential (depending on experience & education)



Schedule:

Wednesday 10pm-9am, Thursday 10pm-9am, Friday 10pm-9am & Every other Saturday 10pm-9am 


*Schedule does rotate every 6 months to a Sunday-Tuesday & every other Saturday schedule. 



Position Overview:
Children’s Home Society of South Dakota is seeking a Full Time Overnight Team Coordinator to supervise a team of residential youth counselors within a residential unit and model supervision and trauma informed care of children. What You Will Do:

Your responsibilities as a Full Time Overnight Team Coordinator: 


  • Child Supervision: Nurture children through interactive and engaging strategies. Maintain vigilant supervision of children. Respond to emotional dysregulation in a trauma informed manner, supporting as needed.
  • Team Management: Report critical information to treatment team as needed by end of shift. Assume Residential Youth Counselor tasks for breaks and take kids as needed. Review and approve the schedule of therapeutic daily activities by direct care staff. Oversee/conduct required shift logs/documentation. Focuses on relationship building. Puts the needs of the team before their own. Organize and implement two team building activities a year.
  • Professional Development: Attend required annual training and demonstrate competency in required areas. Attend and participate in weekly staff meetings. Work on Quality Improvement goals.
  • Medication: Administer medications according to Agency policy.
  • Safety and Policies: Ensure campus buildings are secure and report any suspicious activity. Ensure safety standards and policies and procedures are followed. All delegated drills are completed. 
  • Supervision and Coaching: Monitor performance and conduct one-on-one meetings and reviews. Review and coach on behavior/restraint/incident reports before leaving shift, or before their next shift if circumstances warrant. Delegates tasks in a balanced manner to strengthen the team. Act as a resource for staff questions and collaborate on therapeutic treatment strategies.

Requirements

Qualifications


Education:

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services discipline preferred.  

Experience: 

  • Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience working with children with behavioral issues. 
  • Supervisory experience preferred. 



Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Residential environment focused on care and treatment of children with behavioral issues. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to physically restrain a child in accordance with Agency policy, while being able to verbally communicate to the child and other staff. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
