Now Hiring: Fire Company Captain – Toyota Fire Brigade
Location: Toyota Battery Manufacturing Plant, Liberty, NC

 

Marksman/Toyota Fire Brigade is seeking a proven leader to serve as Fire Company Captain at our brand-new Liberty, NC battery manufacturing facility. This role is critical in ensuring the safety of our people, operations, and community while upholding Toyota’s world-class standards of excellence.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise brigade members in fire suppression, rescue, and hazardous
    materials response.
  •  Coordinate emergency operations during fires, medical calls, and high-risk incidents
    unique to an industrial/battery environment.
  • Conduct training, drills, and equipment checks to maintain readiness and compliance
    with NFPA, OSHA, and Toyota protocols.
  • Develop team members through coaching, mentorship, and performance management.
  • Collaborate closely with Plant Safety, Security, and local emergency response agencies.

Qualifications:

Essential Job Functions:

 

  • Understand and follow all Standard Operating Procedures
  • Follow the Emergency Action and Communication Plans and all Standard Operating Procedures for emergencies
  • Completes incident reports as required
  • Responds to all fire/medical/security/hazmat/threat situations according to Emergency Response Plan and Standardized Operating Procedures and Medical Director Protocols
  • Performs routine daily/weekly/monthly inspections on fire alarm/fire suppression/and security equipment
  •  Physically inspect all fire suppression systems, including but not limited to:
    •  Sprinkler System
    •  Manual and Automatic Alarm initiating devices
    • Fire Panels
    •  Standpipe Hoses
  •  Perform daily inspections on apparatus, security vehicles, and emergency response equipment
  • Patrol facilities for fire or building code violations and additional safety hazards; report to supervisor
  • Act as a weather spotter and monitor weather alerts through Sky Guard or other notification systems
  • Approve and inspect all hot works and high-hazard hot works, confined space permits
  • Participates in daily training on emergency response to maintain readiness
  • Maintains compliance with personal Fire/Medical/Hazmat certifications as required by local mandate
  • Demonstrate experience managing multiple tasks, executing radio and telephone communications, and performing in a high-pressure environment
  • Other duties to be determined by direct report and/or management

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of fire service experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role (Captain, Lieutenant, or equivalent).
  • North Carolina Firefighter certifications 1/2 (IFSAC/Pro Board or transferable from other states).
  • Fire Officer I
  • HazMat Operations or Technician certification required.
  • Emergency Medical Responder (EMR)
  • NIMS 100, 200, 700, 800
  • EVD
  • Current driver’s license  
  • Pass an NFPA 1582 physical examination and drug test
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and decision-making skills under pressure.

Preferred:

  • Fire Officer II
  • EMT certification
  • NIMS 300, 400
  • Certified Instructor
  • Pumper/Driver operator
  • Arial/Driver operator
  • Experience in industrial or special operations fire protection is highly desirable.

 

$23.25 hr. (base annually $48,360)

+ built in overtime (annually est. $29,020)

Opportunity to earn up to $77,380 annually!

 

24-hour shifts
