Social Worker OR LCSW-School Based Counselor

LOCATION:       Newell Elementary School

ANTICIPATED DATES:       Immediate - January 5, 2026

TITLE:                                 Social Worker Long-Term Leave Replacement

REPORTS TO:  Director of Student Services and Building Principal

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  LICENSED SOCIAL WORKER (LSW) WITH MENTAL HEALTH EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• School-based counselor

• Acts as a liaison between parents, students, staff and outside agencies.

• Provide clinical services to at risk students 

• Experience conducting individual and family counseling sessions

• Experience facilitating group counseling sessions 

• Facilitation of service linkage to community services for families

• Home visits if necessary for family engagement

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team and outside clinical service providers

• Trained in crisis response and de escalation

• Experience working with children who are behaviorally impacted or demonstrating comorbid mental health diagnoses

• Facilitation of staff trainings on mental health and the impact of trauma

• Performs all case managerial and therapeutic duties in accordance with State rules and regulations.

• Pay for this position shall be in accordance with the UFREA collective bargaining agreement.  All collective bargaining agreements are available on the District website via Collective Bargaining Agreements
