1:1 Paraeducator – After School Program (Monday-Thursday 3- 5:30pm)
Job Summary:
To assist, support, and work closely with program staff, and other team members in providing a
safe and beneicial experience for a student with disabilities. Assist student with safe practices
and meaningful participation and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Associates Degree, 60 Credits, or Passed the ParaPro Examination
Essential Functions:
? Effectively observes assigned work hours and maintains a prompt and regular
attendance pattern.
? Follows the daily schedule as prescribed.
? Adjusts to work assignments and/or schedule changes. Works with a specific individual
student to reinforce safety practices and beneficial/meaningful experiences in the after
school progam.
? Assists identified students with transporting materials or supplies as needed. Assists
identified students with specific personal and physical needs.
? Supervises assigned student in all environements used by the school sponsored after
school program including fieldtrips
? Communicates clearly and positively with students and all stakeholders. Performs
assigned non-instructional classroom duties, such as snack time, toileting, class change,
and clothing routines.
? Serves as a source of information and assists any substitute staff assigned to the
program.
? Performs other duties as assigned by the supervising staff, and/or program leaders
Working Conditions:
? Per Union Contract
? Starting rate $18.91 per hour
Requirements:
? Demonstrates ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students in the
school environment and community.
? Maintains a cooperative working relationship with Principal, supervising teacher,
students, parents, staff, and public.
? Participates in professional learning activities that align with school improvement goals.
Participates in staff development opportunities provided by the district
? Demonstrates a positive attitude toward work assignments.
? Hours are designed around student needs.
? Accepts responsibility for the work assigned and accepts constructive criticism.

? Additional school-level responsibilities as assigned by the Principal or his/her designee.
? Must pass federal and local background checks.
? Must have reliable transportation.
? Must complete all pre-employment requirements before the start date.
