POSITION: Anticipated Assistant Director of Student Services

Qualifications:
- Possess an Instructional II certificate as validated by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
- Possess a Master's Degree in his/her primary area of Instruction within the Student Services Department.
- Possess a Supervisory I certificate or be actively participating in a Supervisory I program.
- Experience or education preferred in the areas of counseling and/or social work.
Job Summary:
This administrative position provides leadership for the overall management of all student services programs, including English Language Development, school counseling, school social work, home and school visitation, AEDY placements, Gifted and Talented Students, homelessness, and nursing.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Personnel Responsibilities:
- Identify short- and long-range goals for the growth and development of the student services department, including English Language Development, school counseling, school social work, home and school visitation, homelessness, and nursing.
- Conduct monthly department meetings and maintain minutes for the school counseling department, social work, and Gifted and Talented Students. Minutes should include a listing of members in attendance and topics of discussion. Assist with the coordination of monthly department meetings for the English Language Development, nursing, departments.
- Oversee the Homeless Liaison and ensure that the district is in compliance with federal and state law for Youth Experiencing Homelessness.
- Oversee staff that coordinates homebound instruction for the district.
- Support the Program Supervisor with the leadership and facilitation of responsibilities for the English Language Development program.
- Establish and maintain a data collection system for student services personnel, including but not limited to student contacts, student outcome goals, use-of-time, and program analysis.
- Oversee and track process for communicating with each student within the student services personnel caseloads to review overall wellness, academic progress, and post-secondary plans.
- Share with members of the student services department educational technology resources, free materials, professional development opportunities, relevant materials, brochures, flyers,
- Screen applicants for vacant positions within the student services department.
- Schedule screener interview and/or first-round interviews in coordination with principal at appropriate level.
- Conduct observations, walk-throughs, self-directed projects, and evaluations for student services personnel, including school counselors, teachers of Gifted and Talented students, school social workers and home and school visitor. Assist with the observations, walk-throughs, and self-directed projects for other student services personnel, including English Language Development and nurses.
- Assist with on-boarding/mentoring program for new student services
- Supervise head teacher for nurses and ELD.
District Level Responsibilities:
- Serve as the chair of the District's Act 339 Advisory
- Monitor and meet deadlines related to Act 339
- Review and revise Act 339 Plan at least annually.
- Serve as the Military Liaison for CASD.
- Coordinate with the Director of Student Services and Assistant Superintendent on yearly professional development experiences for the student services department.
- Coordinate and conduct Child Study Team Meetings for elementary and secondary students.
- Coordinate with the Director of Student Services and Assistant Superintendent on curriculum writing and/or revisions for the student services department.
- Complete and submit the yearly AEDY application to PDE. Submit online AEDY referrals. Oversee and coordinate AEDY programming.
- Seek out and attend relevant trainings, webinars, and/or conferences as related to student services goals. In some instances, these experiences may be assigned by the Director of Student Services and/or the Assistant Superintendent.
- Attend relevant student services meetings within the CAIU and Consortium, including but not limited to, School Counselor Consortium Meetings, CAIU School Counselor Network Meetings, CAIU Pupil Services Network Meetings, and Student Services Consortium Director Meetings.
- Oversee and develop student services department budget in consultation with the business office, building leaders, and district leaders. Determine the budgetary needs of the student services department related to the purchase of supplies as well as costs involved in operating student activities.
- Adhere to all budgetary and procurement card procedures, if applicable.
- In coordination with building principals, monitor and tract Career Preparation Evidence for state reporting.
- Support building principals in the delivery and support of student service programs.
- Oversee the K-12 ESAP/SAP Program, including SAP paperwork and state reporting.
- Coordinate the Crisis Intervention Planning for the district.
- Serve as the foster care liaison for the district.
- Coordinate and oversee School-Based Mental Health Programs to include Terrace Metrix, Care Solace, School-Based Counseling Services, Telehealth Appointments, and PAYS Survey.
- Coordinate the work of the student services department with activities of other departments in the
