This remote role is ideal for someone who loves working across both payroll and HR functions and is excited to make a direct impact on employees' daily experience across multiple states.

What You’ll be Doing:
Payroll & Benefits Administration
Process accurate bi-weekly payroll, commissions, bonuses, and off-cycle runs
Maintain employee data, terminations, reimbursements, and garnishments in compliance with federal and state laws. (WA & CA especially)
Administer employee benefits and 401(k), including open enrollment and eligibility tracking
Collaborate with Finance to manage payroll approvals and bonus calculations
Ensure compliance with wage & hour laws across multiple states
HR Generalist Support
Be a go-to resource for employee HR, benefits, and payroll questions
Assist with onboarding, offboarding, investigations, and coaching
Track and manage leaves of absence (FMLA, state-specific programs, accommodations)
Partner with the HR Generalist on employee relations, performance concerns, and compliance
Travel occasionally to store locations for on-site HR support
- 2–4+ years of experience in HR/payroll roles
- Strong understanding of California and Washington employment law (highly preferred)
- Experience using payroll and HRIS software (preferred)
- Comfortable handling sensitive employee matters with professionalism and discretion
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting and handle shifting priorities
