FUNCTIONAL
Main responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- The repair and maintenance of electrical systems, equipment and components as required
- Fault Finding of automated electrical systems, using PLC diagnostic skills
- Fault Finding/diagnostics on Pirelli Network systems at machine level with support of the IT dept.
- Regular preventative maintenance testing of electrical systems, equipment and components
- Assist other electrical and mechanical team members to complete required maintenance work
- To ensure all electrical components in the area are functioning correctly
- Comply with all safety norms and regulations of working
- Complete all tasks as assigned by the supervisor
- Following all standard operating procedures of working
- Attending relevant training and development activities
- Training and Mentoring Apprentices

HSE
- Carrying out such other duties as may be reasonably requested by the line manager, or any senior manager
- Is responsible for their own health and safety, demonstrating personal regard towards safety.

- Responsible for ensuring all HSE related items/incidents are reported correctly with appropriate actions implemented.
- Ensure participation in safety meetings
- Ensure that they have a basic understanding of HSE principles, including housekeeping standards to be maintained within the working area
- Provides suggestions and recommendations to improve safety.
- On observing unsafe conditions or actions, immediately takes steps to correct or report.
- Is responsible for following the Operating Instructions and Safety Working Practices (SWP’s) at all times in order to ensure an optimum and safe level of performance.
- Follows the company’s Golden Rules for Safety, Life Saving Rules and conforms to its stated vison and values.
- Will always wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for any task being performed
QUALITY ASSURANCE
The employee understands their vital role in achieving the company objectives in compliance with the automotive standards. From a quality point of view the employee it responsible to;
- Respect the company rules and procedures related to quality;
- Highlight to their direct coordinator any anomalies regarding quality;
- Participate actively at the implementation, maintenance, of the quality management systems, with the aim of respecting the IATF 16949 standard.
- Prevent and/or report any non-conformities existent in the followed process;
- Participate actively at the continuous improvement activities.
OTHER
The employee will respect the ethical code, code of conduct, internal policies and procedures, and will undertake or participate in any other duties and training, as deemed necessary, in order to fulfil the requirements of the job role.
Flexibility in respect of travel to other UK sites and overseas as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND APTITUDES
Education and professional background:
- Time served electrical engineer with appropriate technical qualifications
- HNC qualified or 3 years industrial experience
Professional and personal aptitudes:
- A sound problem solving ability
- Good communication and people management skills
- Sound technical knowledge of the processes and machinery
- Self-motivated, focussed and able to work on own initiative
- High level of resilience and able to work effectively under pressure
- Good organisation and IT skills
- Ability to read and understand electrical control drawings
- Knowledge of Siemens PLC control (Step7, TIA Portal)
- Knowledge of Siemens Sinamics drive control (S120, G120)
- Knowledge of PLC-PLC, PLC to database communication, Barcode scanning systems and other industrial communication systems would be desired
- Good knowledge of single and three-phased systems
- Ability to diagnose AC/DC Motors faults
