We’re building the next UK-headquartered engineering powerhouse.

At Rowden, we design and integrate advanced systems that sense, connect, and protect data in challenging environments where quick decisions are vital. Our solutions are built to support mission critical operations in remote or high-pressure settings.

Headquartered in Bristol (UK), we combine modern engineering methods with cutting-edge commercial technology to create adaptable, mission-critical systems. We focus on solving the tough challenges that others overlook, ensuring our customers can operate effectively in an ever-changing world.

The role: Talent Acquisition Partner

We’re scaling fast and looking for an ambitious Talent Acquisition Partner who can find, hire, and onboard the exceptional people who will enable us to keep delivering for our customers.

In this role, you’ll need to be curious, creative, and ambitious. You’ll know how to spot exceptional talent and not be afraid to do things differently to secure the best people in the market. You’ll work closely with hiring managers across the business to define what good looks like, then be responsible from bringing those people into the Rowden team.

A traditional talent acquisition background is welcome, but not essential. What matters most is understanding what hiring managers really need and presenting opportunities to candidates in a clear and authentic way. The ideal candidate will have the drive to close the right people and build trusted relationships that lead to lasting solutions to our people gaps. You’ll join a small, high impact People team, reporting to the Head of People & Culture.

Key areas of responsibility

As Talent Acquisition Partner at Rowden, you will be responsible for:

Using determination and creativity to build an exceptional talent pipeline
  • Going beyond traditional channels to identify top technical talent and widening the funnel to a diverse pool of candidates.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with passive talent for future needs.
  • Partnering with hiring managers to forecast upcoming requirements and prepare the pipeline early.
  • Collaborating with the marketing team to promote the Rowden brand to candidates, particularly in the engineering and technology sectors.
Owning the end-to-end candidate experience
  • Running a tight process without losing pace, ensuring a seamless and positive candidate journey.
  • Acting as the single point of contact for candidates from first conversation to offer stage.
  • Executing every candidate touchpoint with clarity and precision.
  • Gathering feedback from candidates to improve the recruitment experience.
Driving efficiency and optimising the recruitment process
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to hiring managers, providing solid advice on making the right hires and sharing market insights.
  • Evaluating candidates rigorously by asking the right questions and spotting patterns others might miss.
  • Tracking important recruitment metrics to understand performance and identify areas to improve.
  • Coordinating smoothly between hiring managers, interviewers, and candidates to maintain pace and quality.
Setting new hires up for success
  • Giving candidates a realistic understanding of their day-to-day role to avoid surprises when they start.
  • Contributing to onboarding plans, drawing on insights from the recruitment process.
  • Ensuring smooth handover from recruitment to onboarding.
  • Maintaining engagement with new hires pre-start and during probation.
Creating long-term positive associations with the company
  • Telling the Rowden story and helping to evolve our employer brand to attract talented, mission-focused people.
  • Championing Rowden’s values and culture in all candidate and external interactions.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with third-party recruiters to strengthen our reach and reputation.
  • Building trust and credibility with candidates and maintaining an active talent network for future opportunities.

Key skills, experience and behaviours

We are looking for someone that is passionate about hiring exceptional people, with the drive to raise the bar every time. You’ll have strong people instincts and be able to build trust quickly to understand a candidate’s key drivers and motivations. You’ll gain loads of experience in this role but before you do, you should have:

Essential skills and experience
  • Experience of hiring within a fast-paced, high-growth business (ideally tech, engineering, or similar).
  • Exceptionally well organised and thorough.
  • Strong eye for detail and personal pride in delivering accurate work.
  • Clear and compelling communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, to partner effectively with cross-functional teams and hiring managers at all levels.
Highly Desirable (but not essential):
  • A track record finding particularly hard to reach talent (e.g. RF/sensing, systems, software, field engineering, product).
  • Understanding of industry context and ecosystem of related businesses.
About you:
  • You are hardworking and driven, focused on winning in recruitment by making hires that truly strengthen the business.
  • You build relationships naturally, able to connect with everyone from junior developers to senior leaders.
  • You are curious and quick to learn, picking up the detail of different roles and speaking candidates’ language with confidence
  • You stay organised, managing multiple workstreams at pace and keeping everything moving without dropping the ball.
  • You bring a sales mindset, selling Rowden’s brand and roles with authenticity – inspiring the right people to join while knowing when to walk away if the fit isn’t right.
