The Role

 

Cameco’s community and Indigenous engagement team is looking for a highly skilled and motivated specialist, Indigenous engagement to support Cameco’s five-pillar corporate responsibility strategy focused towards building and sustaining relationships with indigenous communities

 

In this role, you will:

 

  • Develop and manage the governance model Cameco uses for Indigenous relations
  • Interpret data to develop reports for Indigenous relations and associated reporting requirements
  • Manage Cameco’s applications, nominations, and proposals for varying Indigenous initiatives
  • Create and manage an Indigenous performance indicator system
  • Lead Indigenous research initiatives and present findings to internal and/or external stakeholders as needed
  • Travel to Saskatchewan communities and operations as required

Required:  

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Indigenous studies, political science, commerce or a related program
  • Five to eight years of relevant work experience supporting Indigenous initiatives
  • Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered
  • Previous experience writing reports, analyzing data, and using metrics to make decisions
  • Strong understanding of Indigenous history and perspectives
  • Motivated self-starter with a demonstrated ability to design, manage, and execute research initiatives from concept to completion
  • Class 5 driver’s license 

 

Recommended:

 

  • Indigenous or business analytics course(s) would be an asset

 

Conditions of Employment:

  • Class 5 driver’s license
