POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a full-time Registered Behaviour Analyst to join our Forensic Dual Diagnosis team. This role focuses on delivering clinical services to both inpatient and outpatient clients, including conducting functional behaviour assessments, designing interventions, and evaluating outcomes.
A key responsibility involves supporting individuals transitioning from forensic inpatient care to community living. This includes working directly in community settings to foster therapeutic environments, conducting structured assessments, preparing clinical reports, and implementing behaviour-analytic strategies such as environmental supports, education, and direct interventions.
The role also includes collaboration with the Developmental Services sector to consult on cases involving individuals with developmental disabilities who are at risk of criminal justice involvement. Responsibilities include providing education and training, strengthening community partnerships, and offering case-specific consultation through our interprofessional Dual Diagnosis Forensic Outreach team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post-graduate degree in Behaviour Analysis or related field
- Registration with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO) in good standing
- Minimum 2 years' experience providing behaviour-analytic services to individuals with serious mental illness, developmental disabilities, and/or dual diagnosis.
- Knowledge of the Quality Assurance Measures (QAM) in relation to Behaviour Support Plans is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and provide culturally safe patient care.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills related to crisis intervention and conflict resolution
- Demonstrated knowledge of developmental and mental health resources within this region.
- Demonstrated understanding of the Forensic Mental Health System and the Ontario Review Board
- Knowledge of the Criminal Code of Canada
- Ability to work within both inpatient and outpatient environments and regularly travel between sites within this region.
Valid class G driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct individualized assessments including functional behavior analysis, preference profiling, and skill-based evaluations to inform care strategies
- Design and implement evidence-based behavioral interventions and developmental programs tailored to client-specific needs and functional goals
- Partner with multidisciplinary teams to co-create comprehensive treatment plans, offering ongoing training and clinical updates to ensure alignment
- Track progress and effectiveness of behavioral interventions, making data-informed modifications to enhance therapeutic outcomes
- Participate in the development and refinement of service programs, contributing to evaluation frameworks and strategies for scaling impact
- Equip front-line personnel with practical behavioral techniques and ensure seamless integration of these strategies into daily care routines
- Facilitate smooth transitions for clients moving from inpatient care to community living, providing continuity and support throughout the process
- Deliver behavioural services in the community environment, including education and direct interventions
- Produce detailed behavioral reports and implement environmental modifications to support positive behavioral outcomes
- Offer expert guidance to developmental service providers on high-risk or complex cases, with a focus on diversion from the criminal justice system.
- Deliver targeted training sessions and consultations tailored to specific client needs and situational contexts
- Build and sustain collaborative relationships with community organizations and service partners to enhance service delivery and integration
- Actively contribute to interprofessional team through the Forensic Dual Diagnosis service, supporting shared goals and coordinated care efforts.
