Position Summary

Under general supervision, operate the potable and non-potable water system in an efficient manner while maintaining and working within specified guidelines. Ability to operate all equipment remotely, locally, or by manual hand operation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in controlling the flow of treated water into and throughout the distribution system, operating feeds and regulators into and out of pressure zones.

• Monitor distribution system operation, control distribution system equipment, and operation using a PC based SCADA system.

• Provide information on emergency operating procedures in case of station shutdown or start-up. Assist in system operation to meet fire, pressure, and leak conditions.

• Gather and assist with interpreting and distributing weather and water consumption data and system condition information.

• Perform inspections, operate, and perform minor maintenance on equipment at distribution facilities.

• Assist in the development of standard operating procedures, emergency operations manuals, and facility inspection programs.

• May be required to perform on call duty, work shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime as directed, and work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.

• Must be able to perform safety sensitive functions.

• Perform related work as required.
