Summary:

The primary responsibility of this role is to assess plant needs and guide the development and implementation of training programs, including but not limited to, technical training, employee development, management, leadership, quality, and safety training. This position collaborates with plant leadership to coordinate all training activities at the plant, either directly or through members of the subordinate training team.

 

Supervisory Responsibility:

This role will have direct supervision over the Learning Coordinator and Operational Excellence Leaders, with dotted line connection to the Technical Learning Specialist.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Must maintain open lines of professional communication and effective interpersonal relations within the department and across departmental lines.
  • Lead learning strategies and corporate initiatives as the accountability partner at the site, including but not limited to LinkedIn Learning Support and administration of Individual Development Plans (IDPs).
  • Facilitate and assist in leading leadership courses for Daily’s leadership at the managerial, supervisory, lead, and clerical levels
  • Direct leadership oversight for learning team, which may include performance conversations, coaching, scheduling and guidance on daily responsibilities of the team.
  • Consult with leaders to identify activities, projects, and assignments to drive teams towards collaboration and growth mindset.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, feedback, and performance metrics.
  • Lead development of salaried onboarding programs and guide continuous improvement of all site onboarding process
  • Assist in the coordination of logistics for performance management and succession processes for the training department and its support organizations.
  • Must practice Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP), good manufacturing practices (GMP), and plant policies. Must comply with the Occupational Safety and Health Rules (OSHA). Must practice compliance with all state and federal food safety regulations.
  • Organize job training activities for all subordinates.
  • Coordinate all work processes with other internal departments of the organization.
  • Must effectively manage their own time.
  • Track and communicate with all training staff on progress or concerns of new hire development with providing feedback, giving direction and coaching team members.
  • Complete other assignments as deemed appropriate by manager.

 

Qualification Requirements:

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred; or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Food production training experience preferred.

 

Communication Skills:

Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Possess the skill set to effectively and clearly present information and communicate with others within and outside of the Company. Ability to read and interpret documents in the English language such as general business periodicals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Must be able to effectively manage time and meet all specified deadlines. Bilingual is a plus.

 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

Other Skills and Abilities:

Ability to use computers and all standard programs used by the industry and the ability to learn and effectively use any and all other computer programs that are or will be made available.

 

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to move about the facility. The employee is required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel/hold objects, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance; speak, hear, taste, and smell. Employee may occasionally lift, push/pull up to forty (40) pounds.

 

Work Environment:

The work environment would normally be an office setting but may require trips through the entire facility which would include climate extremes.

 

Work Schedule:

Normally Monday-Friday as scheduled by management and weekends if needed, generally, 8 or more hours/day as established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. Must be available to work as directed.
