Position Duties
The City of Rancho Cucamonga reserves the right, if necessary, to accept applications from the first one hundred (100) applicants that meet the minimum qualifications.

You'll be responsible for:
- Ongoing administrative and management tasks for the Deputy City Manager and Director
- Provides direct and confidential administrative support to one or more professional, management, and or executive positions and may provide support to commissions/committees.
- Leading and supervising the Department's Administrative Assistants
- Communicating with and responding to inquiries from the public, colleagues, city or other officials
- Being a resource for City staff regarding procedural, informational, and technical inquires as it relates to departmental and City operations
- Preparing written correspondence, comprehensive reports, and/or agendas.
- Being proactive and anticipatory on deadlines,
- Utilizing Department and Citywide software applications
- Gathering response documents for records requests
RECRUITMENT SCHEDULE:

Minimum Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to qualify is: Equivalent to graduation from high school and 4 years of progressively responsible administrative experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of office practices and procedures; business correspondence; recordkeeping systems; office machine operation; English grammar including usage and composition; telephone etiquette; ability to perform filing, indexing and cross-referencing methods, receptionist, recordkeeping and other related administrative support tasks; ability to exercise judgment and tact in dealing with the public and other employees; ability to work under minimal supervision and prioritize work; ability to clearly explain policies, procedures and regulations; ability to identify and correct errors in English usage, sentence structure and punctuation; perform basic arithmetic calculations; ability to provide direction to temporary staff; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of the work; ability to take, record, type and transcribe information for reports correspondence, and other documents in a variety of formats on a personal computer from clear copy or rough drafts at a speed necessary for successful job performance into finished copy; ability to establish and maintain various electronic and or manual recordkeeping systems; ability to use personal computer to set up and enter data using computer applications; ability to communicate with others and to assimilate and understand information, in a manner consistent with the essential duties; ability to deal tactfully and courteously with the public and to understand their inquiries, acquire, retain and apply a variety of information about the organization and functions of the City; ability to make sound decisions in a manner consistent with the essential duties.
Special Requirements: Specified assignments require possession of a valid California Driver's License.
