About the role:
We are seeking a Director of Content Marketing to lead the development and execution of a comprehensive content strategy that drives Unison’s brand, supports the company’s growth strategy for all our consumer loan and non-loan products, engages customers across their journey, and supports our investment management business. This leader will shape the voice of Unison, ensuring content is compelling, compliant, and aligned with business goals. The Director will oversee a team of content creators, work cross-functionally with the executive team, marketing, product, sales, and compliance, and use data-driven insights to optimize impact. This role requires a strategic storyteller with deep experience in content marketing, ideally within mortgage origination or consumer lending. A proven track record of leveraging content to increase conversion in a digital marketing funnel is a must.
This is a hybrid position with the requirement of 3 full days in either our Omaha, NE or San Francisco, CA office.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead Unison’s content strategy to support brand awareness, customer engagement, and growth across all consumer loan products, non-loan solutions, and investment management offerings.
- Oversee creation of multi-channel content, including web, email, blogs, guides, webinars, social, video, and partner materials, with a strong focus on digital funnel conversion and pipeline growth.
- Ensure content aligns with compliance requirements and regulatory standards (e.g., TILA, RESPA, state licensing).
- Collaborate with the Executive Team, Demand Generation, Product Marketing, and Sales to build high-performing campaigns that drive measurable business outcomes.
- Lead and mentor a team of writers, editors, and designers, fostering clarity, creativity, and accountability.
- Establish editorial standards, style guidelines, and approval processes to ensure consistency and quality.
- Define and track content performance metrics; leverage insights to refine content strategy and execution.
- Manage external agency and vendor partnerships to scale content production as needed.
- Stay ahead of industry trends, emerging content formats, and evolving customer expectations in mortgage and financial services.
About you:
- 8+ years of progressive marketing experience, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role focused on content.
- Proven track record developing and scaling content strategies that drive measurable impact in digital marketing funnels, with a strong emphasis on conversion.
- Strong storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics for diverse audiences.
- Experience leading and mentoring teams of content creators.
- Deep knowledge of content marketing best practices, SEO, analytics, and multi-channel distribution.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
- Comfortable navigating compliance and regulatory constraints in consumer finance.
- Proficiency with content and marketing platforms such as HubSpot, Salesforce, Google Analytics, or similar.
- It’s a bonus if:
- Have prior experience in mortgage origination, lending, fintech, B2C financial services, or related regulated industries.
- Bring expertise in advanced content formats, including video, podcasts, and webinars.
- Are familiar with AI-driven content creation and optimization tools.

Pursuant to California Labor Code § 432.3, the salary range for this position is $140,000 - $160,000. This range reflects the base salary that the Company reasonably expects to pay for the role. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as relevant experience, skills, qualifications, and geographic location. Additional compensation may include bonuses, commissions, equity, or other benefits.
