Summary
The Manager, Communications, NAB Show will support the promotion of NAB Show and related initiatives through strategic use of social media, marketing support, and media outreach. This role is responsible for assisting with social media content planning, monitoring engagement, reporting metrics, and contributing to broader marketing and communications efforts. The ideal candidate is a highly creative, detail-oriented professional with demonstrable fluency with social media, strong organizational skills, and a passion for digital engagement, as well as experience with media relations.
Essential Functions
Assist with the promotion of NAB Show across social media platforms to drive awareness and engagement.
Create and deploy content across multiple social platforms, in formats such as text, images, infographics, and video.
Draft other written materials in formats like press releases, media advisories, media pitches, and blog copy.
Collaborate on content strategy planning, including scheduling and posting.
Monitor social media channels, track and manage community engagement, provide performance insights, and leverage best practices.
Contribute to an editorial calendar, aligning with key show themes.
Support the planning and execution of media events, ensuring smooth coordination and promotion.
Provide general marketing support across campaigns, events, and initiatives.
Assist with media outreach, including drafting pitches, maintaining media lists, and monitoring and helping field inbound requests/queries from media or other constituencies.
Provide on-site assistance and content creation for NAB Show, along with assisting operations in the newsroom.
Support and maintain NAB Show’s brand identity, awareness, and reputation, using style guides and related materials. Coordinate with outside contractors.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
Four-year degree and 3+ years of related experience in social media content, community engagement, public relations, and communications.
Strong writing and content-creation skills with attention to detail.
Familiarity with social media platforms, analytics tools, and digital marketing best practices.
Ability to multitask and support multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.
Preferred Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, media, public relations, or related fields.
Experience with trade shows, events, and/or product launches.
Knowledge of entertainment, media, and technology industry.
Familiarity with Meltwater or similar media-monitoring platforms.
Familiarity with SproutSocial or similar social media management platforms.
Familiarity and experience with media relations.
Experience writing in AP Style.
Work Location and Schedule
Availability to work hybrid work schedule which includes at least three days in the Washington D.C. office. Ability to travel domestically up to 10% of the time.
