Job Summary: Serves patients by preparing medications; assists pharmacists, multidisciplinary health care team, and patients with medication-related issues; assists pharmacists with MTM’s, maintaining medication inventory and clinic formulary, 340 B compliance. Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills are required for this position. The information must be exchanged using tact and persuasion appropriately. He or she must be detail-oriented, organized, and a problem solver. The person in this position must be able to communicate with the patients, staff, and others; and contribute to a positive environment. The ability to communicate in Spanish, Creole or both is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supports the provision of pharmacy services by transcribing and assembling prescription orders.
- Compounds, packages, and labels pharmaceuticals to be dispensed under pharmacist supervision.
- Communicates with patients and outside pharmacies/healthcare providers for medication reconciliation.
- Assists patients with medication access and adherence issues utilizing appropriate resources.
- Maintains pharmacy inventory stock levels, anticipates necessary medications and supplies, places orders, receives and updates inventory, as well as removes outdated medications.
- Assists pharmacist with ordering, and maintenance of 340B/standard virtual inventory.
- Prepares reports by collecting and summarizing data.
- Maintains medical records by recording and filing prescribers’ orders and prescriptions. Maintains a secure, safe, and clean workspace by adhering to regulations, infection control, policy, and procedure.
- Prioritizes workload and works effectively with minimal supervision.
- Generates revenues by calculating, recording, and issuing charges.
- Communicates with insurance carriers to obtain prior authorizations and resolve disputes.
- May occasionally need to travel from one clinic to another for coverage.
- Assists pharmacist with other duties, as needed.

Education & Training:
- A high school diploma or GED is required
- Active Florida Pharmacy Technician License in good standing required.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred.
Experience:
- At least 2 years in a community health center, community pharmacy, or hospital setting
- 340B Drug Program knowledge and experience preferred
- Working knowledge of medical terminology and brand/generic drug names
Requirements:
- Level 2 background clearance required
- Must have all necessary vaccinations, a PPD Test will be done once upon hire.
