We are a team of engineers, operators, entrepreneurs, and partners driven by a shared ambition to set the new performance standard for renewable energy and grid resilience.

About the Job

As a Project Manager, you will lead the full lifecycle of utility-scale energy storage project development — from land and permitting through to construction readiness. You’ll be on the ground representing Peak in front of local communities, regulators, and landowners, while also steering internal alignment across engineering, finance, and operations. This role is both strategic and hands-on: you’ll travel to sites, manage permitting, interconnection, and compliance activities, and make the critical decisions that bring our Projects pipeline to life.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary interface for project stakeholders, ensuring alignment from development through commissioning and handover.
  • Maintain internal deliverables across the organization, driving cross-functional accountability and ensuring project documentation, decisions, and next steps are consistently tracked and executed.
  • Own full project scope, schedule, and budget, proactively managing trade-offs, identifying risks, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and on target.
  • Lead commissioning readiness activities, including UL/field certifications and local compliance testing.
  • Coordinate interconnection applications and track milestones with ISOs/RTOs and utilities.
  • Travel as needed to counties, municipalities, and project sites to advance development.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and risk registers.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, finance, and leadership to assess project feasibility and optimize design.
  • Implement project dashboards and reporting to provide clear status updates for leadership and customers.
  • Maintain strong industry and community relationships to support long-term development pipeline.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Environmental Science, Engineering, Energy, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in renewable energy project development (solar, wind, or battery storage).
  • Demonstrated experience with land acquisition, permitting, zoning, and interconnection processes.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage landowners, regulators, and community stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of managing project schedules, budgets, and risks.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to project sites, counties, and public meetings.
  • Passion for renewable energy, sustainability, and driving positive environmental impact through technology innovation.
  • Eligible to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience leading utility-scale battery storage projects specifically.
  • Existing network with utilities, ISOs/RTOs, EPCs, or local permitting authorities.
  • Experience negotiating land agreements and presenting at public hearings.
  • Familiarity with commissioning processes, contractual compliance, and risk mitigation in large-scale projects.
  • Familiarity with IRA incentives, tax credits, or energy market structures.

The salary range for this role is $150,000 - $200,000, with actual pay varying based on work location, experience, and skills. Our competitive benefits package includes flexible time off, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, a strong 401(k) plan, and equity opportunities. Join us to thrive in a supportive environment while making a meaningful impact in the energy sector!
