Position Summary:
The Maintenance Staff is responsible for supporting the upkeep, cleanliness, and general maintenance of all Yacht Club facilities, including the clubhouse, docks, marina, and grounds. This role focuses on hands-on work such as repairs, cleaning, groundskeeping, and assisting with daily facility operations. Maintenance Staff are an essential part of ensuring a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environment for members and guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on buildings, docks, marina structures, and equipment.
- Assist with painting, carpentry, and light structural repairs as needed.
- Maintain outdoor areas, including mowing, trimming, weeding, leaf removal, and general landscaping tasks.
- Keep club facilities clean and orderly through sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and window cleaning.
- Maintain pool areas and equipment, including basic upkeep and cleaning.
- Help set up and take down furniture and equipment for events or seasonal use.
- Support other departments with physical tasks such as moving supplies or light transport of materials.
- Respond to maintenance – related issues or requests as directed by the club management.
- Perform other general duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Prior experience in building or grounds maintenance preferred.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general repair work.
- Experience with marina or waterfront maintenance is a plus but not required.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to bend, lift, carry, climb, and perform physical tasks (up to 50 lbs).
- Must be able to work a 40-hour week and occasionally adjust hours for special events or seasonal needs.
