Job Description

With minimal supervision, the Production Painter is responsible for preparing, painting, and finishing equipment, parts, and components according to company quality standards. This role ensures all painted products meet durability, appearance, and performance requirements while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.


Job Responsibilities

  • Preps and prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming.
  • Mix, match, and apply paints and coatings using spray guns, brushes, or rollers according to specifications.
  • Inspect parts for defects before and after painting; ensure quality standards are met.
  • Maintain painting equipment, tools, and spray booths in proper working order.
  • Follow established procedures for paint application, drying, curing, and finishing.
  • Track and record material usage, reporting any waste or shortages to management.
  • Collaborate with the production team to meet deadlines and production schedules.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures, including proper handling of hazardous materials and use of PPE.
  • Assist with rework or touch-ups as needed to correct defects or warranty issues.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts to reduce waste and improve quality.
  • Performs quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet company standards.
  • Establish, maintain, and foster positive harmonious working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. 
  • Complete other duties as assigned, including training new associates, or learning new skills to be efficient for the production team.
