Job Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of electrical distribution/transmission market strategies, focusing primarily on overhead and underground electric distribution/transmission design.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to win contracts and expand business opportunities within the electric market sector.
- Provide technical expertise and leadership in the preparation and review of electrical design packages, including single-line drawings, duct banks, pole loading, and related infrastructure.
- Mentor and develop a growing team of electrical engineers and technical staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Collaborate with internal teams across disciplines such as site civil, survey, environmental, and drainage to deliver comprehensive project solutions.
- Oversee project quality assurance and quality control processes to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
- Manage contract negotiations and coordinate with power companies and utility clients to support project acquisition and execution.
- Communicate complex technical information effectively to senior management, clients, and project teams.
- Identify and pursue new market opportunities to support long-term growth and expansion of the electric practice within the organization.
Job Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in electrical distribution/transmission design, preferably with a focus on overhead and underground electric distribution/transmission systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field; Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred.
- Proven leadership experience, ideally as a senior project manager or team leader in the electric utility or consulting industry.
- Strong technical expertise in electric distribution/transmission design, including single-line drawings, duct banks, pole loading, and related infrastructure.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships, win contracts, and develop new business opportunities.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with a professional presence and sound decision-making abilities.
- Ability to lead and mentor a growing team, coordinating with internal staff and external clients.
- Proficient with industry-standard software and tools relevant to electrical design and project management.
- Willingness to work collaboratively across disciplines and support a broad range of electric market services.
- Open to candidates located anywhere in Texas, with flexibility for remote or hybrid work arrangements.
