About the Department

The Community Services Department is hiring Part-Time Recreation Aides to support programs for the FAB (Fifty and Better) community at the Kimball Senior Center.

THE JOB:

Under immediate supervision, to perform routine work assignments; assist recreation and aquatic personnel with regular programs and special projects and the maintenance of facilities used by the Recreation department; serve as a locker room attendant and a custodian of equipment; perform related duties as required.

Position Duties

The following duties and responsibilities are representative of those typically performed by positions assigned to this classification.  Any single position may not perform all of these duties and/or may perform similar related tasks not listed here.


Issues athletic and game equipment; helps conduct recreation and aquatic programs; prepares areas and facilities for activity and cleans up after program; performs minor repair to athletic equipment; assists recreation leaders in the capacity of ticket taker, sports official, scorekeeper, and locker room attendant; helps to control groups in special events; performs other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Training and Experience: Any combination equivalent to training and experience that could likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be qualifying.  A typical way to obtain the required knowledge, skills, and abilities would be:  at least sixteen (16) years of age; and possession of a work permit issued by the local Board of Education for those attending high school.  No experience is required.


Knowledge and Skills in: Good physical condition.


Ability to: Work cooperatively with others; read and write and English language.
