The Role

We're looking for a Director of Data Strategy & Analytics to join our team. This role sits at the intersection of data, affiliates, and strategy - blending hands-on execution with strategic thinking. You'll evaluate and improve how we collect, process, and present data to business stakeholders, and then take us further by shaping how advanced analytics and innovation can drive growth and profitability. This is a high-visibility, entrepreneurial role where you'll roll up your sleeves, make an immediate impact, and help chart the future of how Avenue Link leverages data to stay ahead.

What You'll Do

  • Partner with marketing, affiliate, and sales teams to identify opportunities and deliver insights that improve efficiency, ROI, and profitability.
  • Audit and streamline existing reporting processes to ensure data is accurate, automated, and actionable.
  • Develop dashboards and reports (primarily in Tableau) that make KPIs and trends clear to the business.
  • Dig into complex datasets using SQL and other tools, turning analysis into strategies that drive measurable results.
  • Collaborate with IT/dev to strengthen infrastructure, while prioritizing business-side needs and impact.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation and exploration in how we use data, from new tools to advanced analysis methods.
  • Run tests and experiments, helping teams evaluate ideas and make smarter decisions faster.
  • Operate as both a strategist and a contributor - this is a hands-on role in a small company where everyone contributes.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to a mid-level analyst, helping them grow while ensuring their work supports business priorities.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of relevant analytics experience in performance marketing or lead generation, with a proven track record of driving measurable business results.
  • Strong technical skills in SQL and advanced data visualization tools (Tableau preferred; but not required).
  • Comfort with ETL and data pipelines - able to collaborate with dev/IT teams to ensure clean, reliable, and efficient data flows.
  • Proven ability to design, execute, and interpret tests and experiments (A/B, multivariate, etc.) to guide smarter decision-making.
  • Business acumen - not just analyzing numbers, but connecting insights directly to ROI, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Independent, entrepreneurial mindset - thrives in a small-company environment where hands-on contribution is essential.
  • Curiosity and exploration - always looking for new methods, tools, and approaches that can push the business forward.
  • Strong communicator and storyteller - can translate complex data into clear narratives that influence decision-making across executive, marketing, and sales teams.
