OVERVIEW

Cache County is accepting applications for a part-time (29.5 hours a week) Mapper to join our Recorder's office! The Mapper will perform technical drafting and analytical work in creating, maintaining, and updating land ownership records, parcel abstracts, and ownership plats as required by statutes established by the State of Utah and Cache County Corporation policies.The starting wage for the Mapper position is $21.00 an hour.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The position's duties include but are not limited to, answering telephone or walk-in inquiries on ownership mapping concerns and issues, verifying current record title ownership, provide detailed, technical, and information assistance to office personnel, other county departments, other government agencies, land records industry professionals, and office patrons in areas related to taxing district boundaries, record title problems, ownership maps, legal description interpretations, acreage determinations, easements, combined or separated parcels, and parcel numbers. This position will also coordinate with planning departments from all jurisdictions in the county to perform timely subdivision plat reviews, accurately compute and collect recording fees and record qualifying plats submitted for recording; scan plats and enter appropriate data from the recorded plats into the county recorder system; process recorded plats in the county recorder system creating parcels and assigning parcel numbers as described in the recorded plat and per division policy. Process daily documents and verify legal descriptions compared to existing record title descriptions, maintain legal descriptions in the county recorder system as required by State Code, including creating a legal description for taxation purposes only as required by recorded documents.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate must have an Associate's degree or equivalent; a minimum of six (6) months of hands-on computer-aided drafting on the job experience or through in-service workshops and courses in an educational institution, preferably with AutoCAD; and a minimum of one year of hands-on experience with land title records or land development records; OR a combination of education and experience.
