Cabinetry Technician Apprentice (YPQ)

Department: 300 Direct Labor Location: Peterborough

POSITION SUMMARY

Are you interested in becoming a part of an innovative in-house maintenance facility working on private aircraft? Flexjet, an award-winning organization, is currently looking for Apprentice Cabinetry Technicians to join our team for a career-focused, �earn while you learn�, on-the-job experience.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with:
    • Building, assembling, and finishing various components for the interior of the aircraft during refurbishment
      • Cabinets, galleys, lavatories, wardrobes, tables, etc.
    • Working with wood components and high-grade veneers
    • Working with composites and other light-weight materials
  • Remove and disassemble parts; assist with assembly and installation of replacement parts
  • Operate all power tools and equipment necessary to accomplish job assignments
  • Must support all company policies and safety programs to include Transport Canada regulations
  • Interpret technical manuals, drawings and blueprints; with some assistance
  • Communicate effectively with other personnel at all levels by keeping co-workers and leadership apprised of work progress and difficulties as they arise.
  • Work in accordance with established safety practices including proper use of personal protective equipment
  • Present a clean and neat work area
  • Help with general clean-up of work area.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and deliver satisfaction to the internal/external customer
  • Perform other related duties & responsibilities as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Must possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills; Must be fluent in English, both spoken and written
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows and MS Office programs
  • Must have the ability to multi-task within a team environment
  • Must be detail-oriented and well organized; demonstrate excellent communication skills, and a positive attitude
  • Successful candidate will be highly motivated and work effectively under pressure and time constraints

REQUIRMENTS

  • Comfortable using different types of woodworking equipment.
  • Strong mathematical skills and the ability to make accurate measurements

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 50lbs.
